Allen Christopher Software LLC (“we”, “us”) is a software developer. We build and license SnapShot Studio, photo booth software, and we operate the hosted service behind it — the event galleries and the delivery of photos by text and email.
We do not run events or rent photo booths. The booths are owned and operated by our licensees — independent event professionals — at their own events.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, how it is used, and the choices available to you. It covers two groups: guests who use a photo booth at an event, and the operators who license our software to run those booths.
1. Information we collect from event guests
When you use a photo booth running SnapShot Studio, we collect only what is needed to give you your photo:
- Photos and videos you choose to capture at the booth.
- Your mobile number — only if you enter it yourself on the booth screen to have your photo texted to you.
- Your email address — only if you enter it yourself on the booth screen to have your photo emailed to you.
- Your first name — only if you choose to enter it, so the message can greet you.
- Delivery records — whether a message was sent, delivered, or failed, and when. This exists so an operator can tell you why a photo did not arrive.
- A device identifier for booth sessions, stored as an irreversible hash. It prevents abuse of guest upload links and is not used to identify you.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any advertising identifier. We do not use tracking pixels or third-party advertising cookies. We do not run facial recognition, and we do not use your photos to train machine-learning models.
Providing a phone number is always your choice
A phone number is collected only when you type it into the booth yourself and tap send. We never purchase, rent, import, or otherwise obtain phone numbers from any other source, and we never send a message unless you personally requested it. If you prefer not to give a number, you can still view and download your photo from the event gallery link.
2. Information we collect from operators
- Account details: name, business name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
- Event configuration: event names, dates, venues, and booth settings.
- Billing information, processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
- Operational logs needed to run and secure the service.
3. How we use information
- To deliver the photo you requested, by text message or email.
- To display the event gallery for your event.
- To show operators delivery status so they can support their guests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose faults.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
4. Text messaging: your number and consent are never shared
Mobile information and text messaging opt-in consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of personal information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information is not shared with anyone.
A phone number given at a photo booth is used once, to send the photo that was requested, and for nothing else. It is not added to any list, not used for marketing, and not passed to another business.
5. We do not sell your information or use it for marketing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not use guest phone numbers or email addresses for marketing of any kind, and we do not add guests to mailing lists. A phone number given at a booth is used once, to send the photo that was requested.
6. Service providers
We share information only with the providers needed to deliver the service, and only to the extent required to perform that function. They are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
- Twilio — delivers text messages. Receives the recipient number and message content.
- SendGrid — delivers email. Receives the recipient address and message content.
- DigitalOcean — hosting and storage, in the United States.
- Stripe — operator subscription billing. Guest information is never sent to Stripe.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
7. Who can see your photos
Photos are visible to the operator running the event and to anyone with the gallery link for that event. Event galleries are unlisted rather than secret — treat the link as shareable. Operators may configure an event as private or apply moderation. We do not publish photos or use them in our own promotional material.
8. How long we keep information
- Photos and delivery records — retained for the operator’s configured retention period. Operators can delete photos at any time, and deletion removes the image from the gallery.
- Phone numbers and email addresses — retained only as part of the delivery record for the event, so an operator can resolve delivery problems.
- Operator accounts — retained while the account is active, then for as long as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations.
9. Your choices and rights
- Stop text messages — reply STOP to any message. See our Terms & Conditions for the full messaging terms.
- Request deletion — email support@snapshotstudiobooth.com and we will delete your photo, phone number, and email address from our systems. Tell us the event name and approximate date so we can find the record.
- Request a copy — email support@snapshotstudiobooth.com to ask what we hold about you.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, such as the right to correct information or to object to processing. We honour these requests regardless of residency. We do not charge for them, and we will not discriminate against you for making one.
10. Children
SnapShot Studio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A photo booth at a family event may photograph children; that photo is handled by the operator running the event. If you believe a child’s information has been collected, contact support@snapshotstudiobooth.com and we will delete it.
11. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled servers in the United States. Passwords are hashed and never stored in readable form. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, and loss.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
